Went into the gas station for a drink, my lady stayed in the car. Our pristine 2001 Mustang GT, 32k miles. A car parks next to it, a young lady (trashy looking, says my lady) proceeds to knock her door into the car. And just gets out, looks at my lady, and shrugs before walking into the store.
Shrugs.
Upon inspection, the paint doesn't look chipped and her little mark should buff out. But still...this is the world we live in, where someone can damage your prized possession and just shrug and walk away. While looking right at you. Some people have no sense of responsibility instilled in them, not even enough to offer a simple apology.
While this was pretty minor, it is representative of how we all get dings and dents. What are some of your experiences with assholes who just do not care, right in front of you?

I would have flipped my shit. They would have walked into that store with a black goddamn eye.

Oh, I would have flipped out. That's bullshit. Not even an "I'm Sorry"?

I actually was the asshole one time, probably. It was storming like a bitch and the wind threw my door out a lot farther than I intended, bumping the car next to me. Of course, the rain was so heavy that all I could think about was getting into the store and hoping I made it out before that guy so I could leave a note or something if I damaged it. He was still there when I came out, but only then did I realize he had been sitting in the car the entire time, waiting on somebody else. There was no scuff or dent, so I just left without saying anything to him because I was embarrassed.

It really wasn't worth that. Just left a little spot of her paint on our car. I don't see my lady doing that; she is a former CO/deputy and can kick some ass but that also leaves her with a personal sense of legality.
Now if the mark had been something worse, we would have made her give her insurance info. It isn't like she was going to flee from us in her Cobalt.

I'd stuff some crap in the exhaust pipe, or put some diesel in. Or leave a very kind note saying that "I know where you live and I'll be watching you know for what you did." because Batman.

I wasn't being too literal. In reality, I would have probably screamed at them; I doubt I could have sat there calmly. If they apologized, it might be a different story, but I'd still be pissed.

In this little redneck town, a black eye is not outside the realm of possibilities lol.

When I had bierwagen, some college bitch in a camry parked no more than two or three inches from my DRIVERS SIDE right as I was walking up. I asked her to move and she goes 'Well I'm in a hurry! So either wait or go in through the other side!" Which of course was followed by me pointing out that maybe the rest of the world was also in a hurry and she was going to stand in line for 20 minutes during the lunch rush anyways so of course, she went inside.......and since I was selling bierwagen in just a few days, she ended up getting a nice series of dings along her passenger side as I backed out of the spot. Life tip - never park next to an intentionally rusted VW and then piss off the owner. More scratches and dings mean nothing to us on our car. They just add street cred.

Haha, I would have had time to. She was in there forever; she knew what she did.

Eh, college bitch gives zero cares about a ding in the car Daddy bought for her. I would have climbed through the passenger side, backed out, parked behind her, and feigned car problems and made her wait. Would be good for some laughs.

Well I was actually in a hurry and her camry was early 2000s but in great shape so it was a parental hand-me-down for college. I figured she'd either a) have to pay for the repairs herself or b) admit to mom and dad that she pissed someone off and risk losing the free insurance. I figure she lied and made me out to be a monster, but whatever. That many dings and scrapes are not an accident, it was deliberate. And sinc the car was gone in about two days and now lives 50 miles north of me? No way she remembered what my plate # was. So I got away with it all.

solution: buy a vehicle with that one unforgivable dent already present. Reduces God-fucking-with-you probabilties by 35%

Haha! We couldn't pass Priscilla up. We also looked at a 2003 Mach 1 and a 2006 GT. Priscilla was a one owner, 24k mile car, garage kept, no mods except exhaust. One of those rare used cars that looked showroom fresh, traded in at her original dealership. And they gave us a great trade in value on her Ranger.

Sweetness. I love stumbling upon those once in a blue moon opportunities. Although I have mixed feelings about your disposal of a wonderful Ranger! :)

Yeah, it was really one of those "Wow!" moments. The good part about the Ranger was now they are out of production everyone still wants one, it had only 65k miles and we had two dealers fighting for trade in. Hell they sold it in less than a week. I don't miss it as I have no use for a RWD truck lol, but it came with her when we met. I want to add a 4x4 to our stable soon.
