Marion Barry was, the DC mayor from 1993-1995. Who actually was busted for smoking crack by the FBI, and THEN he actually got back into politics afterwards.
Let's go over some great quotes from Mr. Barry now.

As someone who grew up in DC while Marion Barry was mayor, allow me to add some details:
He was a hugely popular community organizer and activist before he got elected. He did a lot for the poorest, mostly-black parts of the city. And at the time he was elected, the city was like 65% black. So even after the crack scandal, the people who he had tried to help for so long, still supported him.
He's still on the city council, representing the poorest, most disadvantaged part of the city.
Not saying that excuses smoking crack, but you get the idea.
