Turns out I suck at doing them...I did get some okay smoke from the tires but I couldn't hold them and keep the wheels spinning for more than a couple seconds at best. I'm sure the clutch didn't like it either...Next time I'll have someone demonstrate before I do it. Video to come tomorrow of the fail. :(

I let you down 'Murica... :(

Look at the bright side. At least your tires are not dead.

nothing. I'm too cheap to smoke my tires. But I was worried that you were going to ruin your tires tonight

Well no, we haven't got the time nor the money to really fix it right now. We'll take it in sometime before snowfall.

but remember that a big burn out can be like thousands of miles of wear!

It wasn't big that's for sure. -_-

Step 1: Find your Peak Torque RPM

Step 2: Press clutch

Step 3: Rev to PTQRPM

Step 4: Turn wheel to not-quite full lock

Step 5: Dump clutch and try to maintain peak torque by feathering throttle slowly

Step 6: As car rotates, allow it to get some momentum on the rear axle, then loosen grip on wheel and allow it to straighten itself

Step 7: Here's the tricky part. Feel for balanced slip angle as the momentum of the rear of the car carries the steering past straight center

Step 8: Once you find that balanced slip angle, before the car transitions the other way, catch the wheel and maintain angle while still feathering throttle to keep rear tires spinning

Step 9: You're now going in a circle with the with a dab of oppo. Adjust steering angle and throttle to adjust slip angle and donut dimensions. Try to not lose momentum during this.

Step 10: Find the perfect balance and just maintain it. :-)

There! 10 easy steps! That's two less than A.A.!

I think it comes with 17" Bridgestones? FoST comes with 18" Goodyear Eagle F1 tores

Interesting. I haven't tried a full on insane-amounts-of-smoke burnout in mine (because I like my tires), but I have sat fairly still, roasting the tires for like 5-7 seconds and I remember it being ridiculously easy. Like I could just sit there and let them annihilate themselves without much effort.

I was facing a bit of an uphill slope, so that might have helped? I gotta say, doing a burn out in a fwd car is a bit weird.

Give yourself a healthy throttle blip then quickly ease of the clutch. Unless you have an LSD or really sticky tires you should be gtg

was it as sad as asking a miata the burnout question?

(It's not THE answer)

At least you tried! Which a lot of people here haven't, including me! Also, Where did you go to do the burnout? I find a lack of places where I can safely do it without anyone noticing. Mexico is crowded, and the only places that are really lonely are really lonely because people know some type of assault will be done to them.

GOOD. Less wear. So tires will last longer and you can save money to put into the 944

1. Put car in reverse.

2. Put on nearly full lock.

3. Dump clutch at about 5500 RPM

4. REVERSE DONUTS
