I didn't like it in the initial photos (with the overblown lighting), but there are some photos on Autoblog in daylight which make it more attractive.

So I'm about 80% sold on it now.

I think it will grow on me over time. Also, I think it will be vastly better in person. I was hoping for more of a Kodo influence, however, this stays closer to what the Miata is so I feel like it's better for it.

The headlights are certainly not as emotional and lack the character of proper square sealed beams, but for something made after the model bloat crisis of 1985, it's not that bad.

Who cares about new cars anyways ?

Im not a huge fan of it. I see a ton of S2000, BRz/FRS, and even some 370Z in the foglights.

I'm sold on the rest of it. But the front just doesn't sell me.

I'm on mobile so I can't rage photos but if the top of the grille angled down instead of being rounded up it'd look less like a silly open tooth smile and more like a menacing smirk.

Front end looks like an S2000, rear end looks like an E85 Z4. It's not "bad", just pretty derivative. Seems fairly typical of a japanese manufacturer to reference 15 year old designs.

That's the problem. I wanted to like this car. I wanted this to be the car that made me like the Miata line, and that starts with the looks. I wanted it to have the 3 and 6's design language because I think they look fucking amazing. Then they come out of left field with... this.
