Tasteful is not exactly the word I'd use to describe it, and at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! they're blowing crack out of their arse, but it does have one intriguing feature. In the engine bay is wedged a supercharged AJ16 I6 from an XJR, tuned up to produce 400bhp and hooked up to a 5-speed manual 'box. Lose the horrendous wheels and put the interior back its 70s state and that's something I would gladly drive around :)

if it wasnt for the rims and the pricetag I would be all about it. Interesting how much room that AJ16 takes up in there.

Same :) what I find interesting is you get tons of old 911s with more modern engines, but so few E-Types get the same treatment. Despite the fact that they're very similar cars from a niche point of view (in the modern eye at least).
It does look like it takes up a lot of space doesn't it? Especially seeing as this is an S3 V12 with more real estate in the front.
I suppose the AJ16 is slanted, and it's got a honking great blower attached to one side, so it is a little bulkier than the old XK.
Actually, I wonder how far you can punch out an XK to. I know you can get an AJ6/AJ16 to 4.4l at least, but I'm not sure about the older one.

Those rims look awful. But then again: Maintaining those normal (15"?) wire wheels won't fit the obviously bigger brakes. And using all torque/power will probably break each and every wire in it.
Only somewhat authentic looking option probably is this:

You probably missed my posting of wednesday (Kinja had lots of issues) but I went looking to a project-car for after finishing the 2002. English!

Neat! Austin-Healey Sprite? I haven't seen that front clip before though. What is it?

It is indeed based on an Austin-Healey Sprite. A Lenham GT:
Project car has an Sprite chassis from '58. The engine ought to be an 1100 cc, I guess it's a Morris Minor engine:
Sprites normally had enginenumbers starting with '10CC-'. That 'H' in the engine-number is awesome: It's a HIGH COMPRESSION engine! Hahahaha...
Seller claims it to be the last never-finished Lenham GT which was in the factory when it was closed. Checking that story right now (seller had quite a few stories published on the web, thank you Google), seems to very unlikely at the moment. You can still buy the front and back at the refounded Lenham Motor Company (a CCK-subsidiary).

Even more neat :) I've heard of Lenham before. They do fibreglass fastback hardtops for Spitfires and MGBs (and others I'm sure).
Would be a great little project :)
