Did this all just start today? I read a post on the FP and then on Jalopnik Detroit and was surprised to see my screen go gray. I scrolled up and saw this playing. I have the volume off on my computer, so I heard nothing.

You're a little late to the party. Been happening for a while.

It doesn't happen on phones and the corporate firewall eats them... but they've been on all gawker sites for a while now from my rare experiences hitting pages from my home PC.

I love to support good websites, but this annoying shit makes me block everything.

adblock can be configured to only block certain ads, block ads only on certain websites, or block ads on all websites *excluding* certain websites (which is its default behavior)

I have 3 ad blocks.
-Adblock Plus
-Adblock The Original
-Ghostery
Ghostery tells me what scripts are running on each page I visit. I figured out why my computer was slow when I was reading HuffPost, There are like 20 scripts running on that site at any given time.
