Another downside of sub-blogs

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! kind of irks me. If you write articles intended for the FP — especially if you're a "legitimate" website parsing out news — you should pay us all a common courtesy and participate in the discussion, or at least recommend stuff in order to de-grey it.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Why? Because that's how Kinja works. The discussion only becomes visible if the author participates.

Doing what BMW BLOG just did seems rather dine & dash-y to me. If someone does that, I get the idea that they only care about drawing in traffic to their site.

Not cool, man.

I've seen other so called "blogs" doing the same thing here on Oppo. They'll write up a post (sometimes just a snippet and a link to their website), share it to Oppo, then disappear and neglect the ensuing discussion.

Can we please quit doing this?

I agree, but maybe they might not know how Kinja works.

But anyway though, they're usually better off just syndicating. Jalopnik still offers it, right? I know article wriers used to be able to email their story to tips@jalopnik with the subject "syndication"

When my posts get FP'd, I recommend the shit out of people's comments and participate in the conversation like a madman.

The grey out thing is strange, sometimes when I recommend a reply on one of my articles the dude's comment is still in the pending section. Seems only a FP author or someone with more authority needs to approve the comments to get it to appear. I also click approve on all the MY SISTER EARNS $55.00 PER HOUR WORKING AT HOME—-> replies and any nude pics of Dustin Hoffman....but that is just me.

I agree. I saw I was grayed out and said "screw this." Yet another sub-blog to get followed by/follow.

It's click-bait. I'm a BMW owner and I find the BMWBlog site not all that great to be honest.

Dine & dash is the flack's world. Here's easily-digestible press release copy that masquerades as a news piece: feel free to change nothing and run it as-is.

ZOMG BMW1 sedan! You are right to be impressed by it because it's properly badged and camouflaged and you've been conditioned to drool. Terribly sorry, duty calls.

Man, this is the best kind of PR: I don't even need to identify this as PR or advertising because it's this entity's blog and it's unregulated.

Back to keyboard. Dear Munich friends: pay me. Now off to that junket.
