I've never had an issue with the wipers in my SVT Focus.

I also LOVE where the cruise is. Easiest I have ever seen to activate and set.

Mk3 VWs are worse. You click the stalk down once for one speed but then go up to neutral and then up some more for the other speeds........why? Because Bosch.
