The lowered hood worries me. Usually length isn't the problem with a V8, but height is.

A 302 is the only short-deck motor that would likely fit, or an LS block with clever heads and intake that keeps the height low is possible maybe.

I bet the speed version has a big functional hood scoop to fit whatever additions they make.

LS will fit no problem, especially a dry sump LS7 or LS3 with a shorter pan.
