That if I do well enough in my Design class I can get 4 engineering credits from RIT for only $250. Looks like I have some other motivation than what I already had to do well in this class.

It's nice that you are going to college and all. And I remember from my own experience that moving out into the real world is a great step in becoming a real adult, but what are you trying to tell us here?

American high schools often offer "dual credit" courses, in cahoots with a local college.

If he gets a certain grade in this particular HS class (I assume a "B" or above), he will receive college credit from RIT.

Said credit will normally stay on your future college transcript even if you don't end up going to the particular college that offered it, especially if you remain in state.
