I read a very interesting piece on this in psychology last year. It mapped the size of action figure muscles over the years and the size of the guns toys marketed to boys as well. It also talked about a bunch of other stuff. Basically, the researchers claimed that a lot of the issues that feminists call for action on are due in part to a warped view of masculinity created by our society forcing a macho image of manhood upon young boys. I think that it's very unfortunate that many people who advocate for women's rights and positive female body image don't realize that the problem is just as bad for boys when it comes to working out and taking muscle enhancers and being aggressive if not worse now that the pop culture and mainstream trend is to shun models and airbrushed portraits.

Orrrrr (crazy thought!) we do know about it and therefore emphasize positive body image across the board, but have plenty of our own shit to deal with, and it is well-known that what feminists call patriarchy does hurt men and boys as well (see: the warped view of masculinity you mentioned above). You could try telling the men's rights movement to take a break from threatening people and being blatant misogynists to, you know, actually address men's issues but I won't hold my breath on that one.

I would implore you to actually visit r/masculism. I'm not a practicing member, but curiosity just got the better of me and I checked it. Yes, there are some people who are the crazies who have "special" opinions, but a lot of the users seem to be pretty level-headed. Just watch out for the crazies.
