Except the ST owners. This is the slow Fiesta thread. Go away lucky people.
I'm looking for people who own, preferably, the one 1.4 100hp engine in it. I have some questions. Something to begin with:
1. Is it green?
2. How slow is it?
3. Is it fun to drive?

Everything but the 1.0L and the ST should be ignored.

I forgot the regular one even exists because everyone on this site has the FiST

My country is poor and fucked up. 1.0 ecoboost is rare and/or too expensive, ST is nonexistant and too expensive. Common ones around here are 1.25, 1.4 and 1.6 Ti-vct. There are also 1.4 and 1.6 diesels but diesel sucks in small cars.

I'd get the diesel. Unless you're really worried about performance.

That made me ask that first question! Anyhow, thanks.

I really dislike the sound diesels produce. Plus i don't put on much mileage to justify more expensive maintenance on the diesel one.

I completely understand where your coming from regarding the sound. My mother has a 328d, and at low rpms it's just annoying.

Oh and when you start it in a really cold morning it sounds like it's about to transform to a John Deer tractor. Drove a TDI for a while. Terrible terrible thing.

Why haven't you festooned your Fiesta with the Ford Bacon Livery?

And here's where we differ. I love the sound of a diesel. Maybe that's just because I've been around trucks forever.

I heard the 328D and wondered how they made it sound that rough. Full size diesels aren't that loud at idle now.

A friend of mine used to have a 1.4 Fiesta. He rather liked it.
I've considered the 1.6 Zetec S a couple of times, for some cheap fun. They're generally well-liked.
(Hey, you asked for 1.4 Fiestas; you made no mention of the generation!)
(Sorry.)

Don't have it, but I've driven it. Even the base 1.4 is fun to drive. It's by no means a rocket, but it's peppy enough to not get in it's own way, and the balance is excellent.

That's allright. I currently own mk6 1.25 zetec and i was considering getting a mk7 because less boring. MK6 is fun to drive but mk7 just feels like it's more of a car than previos generations.
I'd go for the 1.6 too if law would let me.
