My '94 Escort is named Gretchen, and that isn't going to change, but it took me months to decide on it after giving up on my initial idea. You see, because it's essentially a Mazda with a Ford name and Ford styling, I decided to find the most common American name taken by female Japanese immigrants in 1994. It only made sense, really. Failing that, I wanted to find the most common Japanese girls' baby names for '94 and choose the first western one I could find. Of course, those lists are so oddly specific that, although I know I could find both if I had unlimited resources, it just wasn't meant to be.
So, how far will you go to determine the perfect name for your car?
Also, am I the only one who has leaned over and hugged the steering wheel after almost putting it in a ditch?
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

I have a friend whose mom is named Gretchen, so this is just a little awkward for me for some reason.

My wife's name is Glynnis but my stepmom is constantly calling her Gretchen for reasons we don't understand so I find this quite humorous.
