at least i get time and a half, plus 4 hours holiday pay. So that pays for my rotors and pads. Hopefully you have some incentives.

Lolnope.

$7.50 an hour, work from 11am to 8pm with an hour break.

I get a 30% discount for lunch, so there's that.

Oh the joys of minimum wage work.

Same here, except I don't get any compensation other than my boss not being mad. No time and a half, no holiday pay, just a 6 hour workday instead of 8 which also means no break…..

dang thats a bummer. Im in at 830, so at least you get to sleep in. And an hour break.

i started at minimum wage, 7.50, and 4 years later, im not even past 9 yet... Im probably one of the top employees at this store, and actually care about what i do there, but sadly they'll pay the slackers the same as me, and im left to do the dirty work...

sorry i ranted a little. But yeah, i know those joys.

dang no time and a half. And i usually sneak by without taking breaks. Id rather work the extra half hour and boost my pay just a little more, since my breaks arent paid.

My breaks aren't paid either but my boss would take off a half hour if I didn't so I might as well take it

Oh in that case take the break. In some states its not required for employees to take breaks (iirc), you could possibly argue that unless its some sort of company policy you signed your name to. Then again, sometimes its not worth your time arguing it.

We're required to take a 30min break for anything over 6 hours and a 15min one for over 4, but our boss doesn't really care about whats required. On weekends though we work 9-5 with no break whatsoever, and its not worth complaining as our boss is difficult at the best of times

You do what you gotta do. No sense getting worked up about, well, work. Ill usually only take a break if my bosses tell me. Well, hopefully (if you deal with the public) the crazies dont all come out and you can somewhat enjoy your day.

I work in a pharmacy, 95% of the people I deal with are crazies…. but its a good means towards accelerating my career so I do it with a smile day in and day out.
