Does anyone know how much it costs to purchase Ford's 1.0 ecoboost and what's included at different prices. I have dreams of a commuter Miata with one of these.

I wonder the same thing as well.
I want to put one of those in my future AZ-1. I'll got an instant 100% extra power.

A brand new 2.0 ecoboost crate motor costs $8000, so I can't imagine the 1.0 3-cylinder going over $5000 if they offer it as a crate engine.

I think I read somewhere it's around $3,000 but I find that figure impossible to believe or at least wonder what they leave off.

No way supply and demand supports that figure. I understand economies of scale, but that sounds closer to the cost to ford for putting the engine in a car, not the cost for them to package it for someone else as a crate motor and sell at a profit.

Yeah, I think this was a replacement motor not a crate motor because I don't think Ford has a crate version ready yet. I hope they make one.

They don't sell them in crate form yet because Ford can't build them fast enough for the Fiesta production line. Give it a few more years and you'll see it on Fordracingparts.com.
