No other Mercedes draws me in like the CLS does (except maybe the SLR Mclaren). The way the lines flow and the roof swoops makes this one of the best looking sedans in existence. If I magically stumbled on some cash you can bet your ass one of these would be in my garage.

ah the trusty SLS, drop dead gorgeous but not practical enough for daily duty which is why I prefer the CLS.

4 door super sedan > 2 door coupe.

On a side note I spotted a black SLS in the Cabella's parking lot yesterday.

No doubt it is a great looking car. Although I note that I thought the first generation CLS looked great when it came out - and it now looks really dated to me. I think this design will age better.

the SLS is graceful but raw. You can look at the sls like you would a kobe steak - it's the highest mark of excellence but the grilling and visceral creation puts it in a different scope from the the CLS.

The CLS however is a powerful orchestra playing amazing music but can also bring out a range of emotions from sorrow to pride. It has an elegance and refinement to it but also commands presence.

The SL300 is a finely engraved Winchester or Remington from the civil war, a decorative piece that is very well capable of doing the job, not perfect yet those imperfections add character, and an overall show-piece .. the original standard.

The Mclaren is in a different ball game. I was stating the best mercedes a person could actually buy. An $80K car can be attainable for many many people. But a 300K car not so much.

The CLS is the Mercedes I can most relate to. The SLR is not necessarily better looking but it definitely draws your attention a lot more.

While the CLS has grown on me, best has to go to the SSK

Those things are just pure rennwagen goodness.

That being said, I am thinking heavily about going early 2000's AMG for my next daily and the CLS, CLK, and E class are all kinda right there in my line of sight. The CLK is the cheapest because it doesn't supercharge but in the same breath I could go for a W202 and still have a bundle of fun.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD do NOT buy a $65k car with your 401k. You would probably be kicked up a notch tax bracket-wise. It's best to finance it and pay it off over three years to lessen your tax burden.

2 weeks ago, i came home from some time out of town to nothing in my refrigerator, except a jar of peanut butter and half a loaf of white bread. pulled the banana i got at the airport out of my bag, and returned to the innocent bliss of a 10 year old.
