Orange and white banners have popped up EVERYWHERE. There's more people on the side of the road drunkenly singing rocky top than usual. Traffic is balls deep.

What's going on is a ton of pre-first game drunken parties. The first game is Sunday.

I had the misfortune of having to be in Kingsport TN about a week after UT won the national title in 1998. The UT fans were, to be polite, exuberant but completely insufferable. To make things worse, I had a fellow with me from the UK who was utterly perplexed by the whole arrangement of not actually WINNING a properly organized tournament/title game. I have to be in Knoxville around Sept 25th (scheduled small convention) so presuming there's not a game that weekend :)
