However recent tweets from Deadmau5 have suggested that Ferrari USA have told him to remove his Nyan Cat wrap as well as the custom floor-mats and the custom Purrari badging, or they will take legal action.

I wonder if the jackass lawyer at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! who sent us a "cease and desist" letter over the purrari is un-butthurt now that I unwrapped...Yeah it was mostly about the custom floor mats and the custom purrari badges. Whatever. It's just a normal ass 458 now. All good.
It's surprising that Ferrari have gone quite to these extremes to put an end to the Purrari, maybe Ferrari simply got upset that Deadmau5 has since bought himself a McLaren 650S Spider and this is their revenge.

That thing is epic... and last time I checked, this was AMERICA. So you can cease and desist getting up in my shit, broseph. Props to him for having the imagination anyway.

Because it's Ferrari and everything that Ferrari does is perfect. How dare anyone change anything about their Ferrari that they paid (a lot of) money for!
C'mon Ferrari. You're Italians! You're not supposed to have that stick up your ass!

I'm not sure if it was registered to Ontario. I think Ferrari USA is basically Ferrari NA anyway.

I'm very surprised, because I'm pretty sure they didn't sue him. They just sent him a C&D letter.

They didn't sue, they just threatened to, and apparently that's all that it took. I don't think that Ferrari would get anywhere if they actually did try proceed, but I don't hate them for trying. What has been done to that 458 is a disgrace.

1.) Given the amount of monumentally tacky shit you see in a Ferrari merchandise store I don't think the Purrari is that out of line
2.) To be completely honest something tells me it's less about the wrap and more about modifying a logo which I'm sure is a trademark. This shit happens all the time but in most cases it's a nameless low profile knock-off with nobody to go after.

If you look at the plate in the pic, it shows an Ontario plate.

anyone remember when Kevin Federline painted his Ferrari calipers to say "Federline" in the same font? I find that more offensive.
Follow up question: does anyone remember Kevin Federline?

They have to protect their trademark or else it sets a precedent that they are not using it, and they could lose it or have trouble enforcing against infringement in the future.
It's a legal thing, not a pride thing.
