A little off your murderpedia link. Vans and panelvans (above, a ute with a van section where the tray is. They're connected to the cab so they differ from a ute with a canopy) were massive in the show/street machine scene here in Aus around the 80's. Occasionally you'll see one at a show or a coffee and cars type get up. You've really got to admire the work that goes into the airbrushing. Its a bit of a shame that massive airbrushed murals have gone out of vogue. The buttoned velour, not so much haha. Check the artwork on the back, "blowers burnouts boobs" haha. This panel van is heavily involved in the burnout scene. Its name is VANTSY. There's a few videos of it skidding at events on YouTube.

You know, I never thought about low riders. They have some wicked painting techniques. The lace-ing, the layering, the pin stripping. Some of them look like they've spent years in the paint booth. Oooohhh bloody mad max! It really grinds my gears (haha) that so many xa XB coupes are ruined to make mad max replicas. They're one of the falcons I really want but the prices for even a rough one are ridiculous. One day though one day...

Other good Aussie car films are Running on Empty and The FJ Holden. Not exactly quality filming and story lines but still pretty cool. Running on Empty is great, lots of one liners from that film that are ingrained in the street machine scene over here. There'd be a few threads with everybody's favorite lines from it on nearly every Aussie forum. Mine are "the gizzard boys, not half a brain between them" "get your gear off Cheryl,'not now we'll miss the race' " "three apes in a holden"
