The Italian Grand Prix is coming up next. How can you celebrate the days of the naturally aspirated, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of Formula 1? By unleashing some of the mightiest, World Champion Ferraris at Monza.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Fortunately, regular Monza-attendee YouTube user !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! was there to record it all.

EDIT: for a small reference between 1.6l V6 turbo F1s, the 4.0l n/a V8 GP2s and the 3.4l n/a GP3s, here is what I saw at the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of the Hungarian Grand Prix. In all honesty, the V6 sound is more pleasant up-close, no need for earplugs. You are actually able to listen to the crowd as well.

Very nice. These were the last great cars before F1 got ruined.

For "locals", you can drive up to Mt.Tremblant, (about 2 hours north of Montréal) during the annual Ferrari Fest and assist to the F1 Clienti event.

I wish the FIA could give up on this eco-F1 nonsense. Especially now there there is Formula E. Can we please go back to bigger engines and less emphasis on tyre management?

Beautiful, beautiful sound that we will never hear again because F1 is run by people who trying to placate a bunch of tree huggers who couldn't care less about formula one.

I miss the mighty days of both the V10 and V12. For anyone who has never heard a F1 Ferrari V12 3 liter go by, the sound is like a heavenly symphony. Nothing like it at all other than maybe a Matra V12 3 liter. The only internal combustion engine that sounds even better is a Merlin in a Mustang or Spitfire. What is lost on the FIA today is that people want to HEAR the cars as well as see them. I know the diminutive V6s are so earth friendly and politically correct, but F1 has never been about being either one. It should showcase the best in engine design. If I were Jean Todt, I would have a formula similar to the 80s where a team could run a V8, V10 or V12 N/A or a turbo equivalent, either a V6 or 4 cylinder, whatever configuration that would be desired. Bring back the NOISE please!

These cars along with the early to mid 90s Ferrari V12s were simply incredible in terms of sound. Just unparalleled.

You seem to be confused. The naturally aspirated engines are the thing of the past. They have been beaten to death. They had no room for growth or improvement. They are on the way out of production cars the same way the coal fired locomotives are. Turbocharging and energy recovery is the most promising propulsion technology among the ones that do work. F1 is using these in order to stay relevant to the modern automotive technology.

As for allowing cars different engine configurations (V8, V10, etc), this was already tried and it was really ruinous to anyone who happened to use a design that's actually not optimal. The optimal layout was V10 for 3.0 and 3.5L engines, and manufacturers who tried V8 and V12 seriously underperformed. Going with V12 3.5L cost Ferrari 5 years of ridiculously bad performance. It still baffles me that people miss the Ferrari engine that was cause of Ferrari being the laughing stock of the grid in 90-95.

Hopefully if Formula E is a success this could be how it ends up. Unlikely, but I am hopeful. I don't mind the addition of new tech like the hybrid systems but when you start handicapping the engineers it ruins it for the fans

Wow, so much intelligence here. Who can reason with such an expert? Must be nice to be up in the stratosphere above all the peons like me. Meanwhile, the sport is dying a very quick death it would seem. See, whether you want to admit it or not, people come as much for the spectacle which includes the sound as they do to see the actual racing. Given that I have been into F1 since 1966 and have seen F1 races over the years in person, I can appreciate the best F1 has had to offer. Perhaps you have been limited to X Box One games to appreciate F1 at its finest. Good day Sir.

I don't mind the hybrid tech as well but maybe they could have just left the engines as V8's and added whatever ERS & MGU-K's they wanted to those. Plus I just don't understand how those new lower noses are supposed to be safer. If you have a lower nose and you rear end someone wouldn't the downforce push down the car a bit more and leave the driver more exposed to the engine bay? Which is the sturdiest part of the car. Not too mention they are not very easy on the eyes.

In all seriousness, I believe that when I am 90 years old and taking my last breaths, my biggest regret will be that I did not take the opportunity to go to the U.S. Grand Prix when it was at Indy, and hear the most beautiful mechanical symphony ever created. I scour youtube for all of the V12 and V10 era car videos I can find and purposefully make my eardrums bleed. I will have to find a way to forgive myself for such egregious errors in judgement.

Do you honestly think you and your opinion matter that much to Formula 1? The reality is that while the sounds may not be as great as they used to be, the racing has been getting better. That is a general statement, and I know to many die hard fans, they would disagree due to things such as DRS. But when taken in context of all fans, casual and die hard, long term and new-ish, the overall opinion is that the racing has been better recently. It seems like it will only get better because of the effort to go green. Manufacturers are coming back to the sport because of the relevance of the formula. You can expect even more involvement from car manufacturers once the formula goes to a 4 cylinder model.

Do you honestly think that you and your opinion matter much to Formula 1 as well? The reality is that people don't like the current state of affairs. Going green and having fuel regulations and more restrictions is only ruining the sport. Apparently you don't agree much with Steve Matchett, do you?

How is formula 1 dying a very quick death? After last weekend's race at Spa, the guys who had sworn off F1 after the abysmal 2013 season are now tripping over their DVR sets and HDMI cables trying to record a replay of the race, if they haven't been already doing it since Bahrain or Monaco GP. Bernie must be really happy the way things are unfolding.

As for sound, it's only small part of the spectacle. First, you should realize that most of revenue is collected through TV rights, not race tickets. And on TV, the engine sound really doesn't make much difference anyways between old and new engines. A typical fan gets to see 19 races on TV, and at best one in person. Most just watch it on TV. The people who are pissed off about the sound are the minority that actually go to the race track. And considering what's going on with the championship, I really doubt the new sound will deter the fans from visiting the tracks.
