As suggested by an auto engineer, I will begin my research reading H-Point.

For those wondering, I am going to do extensive study and research, all leading to the beginning of designing a road-legal racer inspired by DSR race cars.

I have read through almost the entirety of the blogs written by Palatov about his race cars, and I will likely end up with something dimension wise between his DP4 and Dp1. Here's the DP4 for reference:

I will likely go a bit bigger, and it will need to at least be adjustable to give some more ground clearance during times it is driven on the streets.

How will it look, you may ask? Surely I must have some design ideas!

Actually no. I'm not that artistic in terms of form, I consider myself artistic in function. I may have a little design competition or something to see if anyone can pen me something nice and functional looking, but that's not for quite some time until I have a bit of chassis design first for specified dimensions and clearances.

And no, this isn't a business idea, merely a one-off (or more in the future for friends and myself). So if you want to buy one, unfortunately that likely won't happen unless I'm REALLY convinced otherwise (not going to happen).

Any suggestions on a blog-like area that I can keep track of all this and allow others to follow along if they want to see my shenanigans? I expect nobody to look through it, but want a good way to have a backed up documentation of my process.

Also written by a pretty accomplished vehicle designer. So far so good!

H-point is a staple for automotive industrial design curriculum.

try this on for size.

many maths.

but the bible for vehicle dymanics.

Yeah, I know it is for industrial design but it is a good primer on getting going on general shapes and where I should have the passenger seated, seating angles, everything. I was looking into moving over to the Milliken book for technical information, though I like your link too! The PDF isn't rendering though so I gotta figure that out.

Appears after using multiple programs there's something wrong with that file?
