Possible hairline fracture in my left ankle. The doctor said that it is also possibly a SEVERE high ankle sprain. This is why you should always be careful on a boat ramp late at night. Slippery mothers.

And here's my hand and an example of what boat we took out. Fun boat, at least.

You can't take a car in the bay. And luckily, I do not own a vehicle with a third pedal.

In the future, I'll just make sure that I'm not the only person in the group that knows how to launch a damned boat.

Boats are scary. I'll stick to land.

It actually happened when the boat was on the trailer just prior to launching it. So really, #twowheelsbad

Boats are perfectly fine when I'm in charge. I was not in charge.

Mistake #1.

Just some dead skin. Ze Doctor said that she didn't see any infections. I dodged that bullet by immediately washing the wounds, dousing it in rubbing alcohol (OOOOOUUUUCCCCHHHH!!!), and properly bandaging it up.

Will do! Better than the alternative, right? :)

I'll probably run some of that over it tonight. Chicks dig scars, right?

(Answer: my wife does not dig scars)

I dislike when I'm not in charge in a car, so I can relate.

This is what happens when you get old and lose all those cat like reflexes.

Yes, I've been absent from here all summer.

Yes, now that classes start next week I'll be back to kill some time in which I should be studying.

PS-

Reading over Ed Bolians story about a week ago, I noted his comment on cars to break his record requiring air suspension to level out the fuel cell weight... E63 wagons have rear air suspension. Bingo!

E63 wagons don't have a separate trunk for fuel cells. I don't want to be high on fumes the entire drive.

I figured you would be back soon with school starting. Welcome back, young Padawan.

And no, this has nothing to do with me being "old". I have figured it out: I wasn't in charge. If I HAD been in charge, nothing bad would've happened. The boat would have gone into the water without incident, we wouldn't have been caught in a thunderstorm on the open water, we wouldn't have almost been run down by a barge in the intracoastal canal, and we wouldn't have been yelled at by a shrimp boat captain. I don't have to drive, but from now on, I'M IN CHARGE ON THE MOTHERF*CKING BOAT.

Also, I want to do the Bullrun in a Charger Hellcat.

Eh, building a firewall can't be too difficult, right?

Oh, I know what you mean. We launch our 28 footer in the spring and keep it on the dock lift during the summer but it's one of the more stressful events of the summer. I feel your pain (not literally). Godspeed on your recovery.

So many rallies nowadays, it's tough to tell which ones have the real drivers. Rob Ferretti runs with his friends on an unorganized rally in the pacific northwest... I'd love to get into that. Or the underground cannonball if that's still running. I'm always ready for a rally, though. Dipping a bit into the tf to cover entry fees wouldn't hurt.

I have a 21' bass boat that I've been launching since I was 14. Putting a boat into the water is generally a breeze when you have enough practice. This boat was a little 16 footer. And I was apparently the only person that knew how to do anything. Sweet.

I looked into the goldRush last night, and it looks like a fun deal. The Gumball is way too expensive and tedious, considering it sometimes takes place on multiple continents (including Europe, which is notorious for coming down hard on speeders). The Bullrun is considerably less expensive and has a very interesting setup. You know where you start on the first day, and know where you end on the last day, but the stops and routes along the way are a mystery to everyone, including law enforcement. Could be some serious fun.
