but its not
its brake fluid
seriously it was that dark
it came out the alfa's clutch reservoir and this is like the third time i've cleaned it out
i might need a new master cylinder
for those of you who don't know what brake fluid should look like (what you doing on oppo go to gawker) it should be clear not motor oil-color

Clear?
Yellow, blue, red, etc. Sure. Never seen "clear" brake fluid in my life.

I've described typical DOT3/4 as "straw colored" or lightly yellow.

How have you never seen super blue? That stuff has been around for 30+ years.

Ew. The stuff that came out of my MGA after it has sat for 30 years was similarly disgusting. It (along with the engine oil and even the fuel) was unusually thick and full of gooey chunks that I presume were whatever was left of the seals and flex hoses. I didn't even bother trying to rebuild the hydraulics – just blew all the grot out of the lines with air, and replaced them.

ATI makes/made a blue brake fluid with the same properties as the clear fluid that they sold. That way it was easier to tell when you hit new fluid when you did a flush. You would just alternate colors with every flush.
