We listed our house for sale back in June. It was under contract in EIGHT DAYS. Crazy fast market. We promptly started looking at houses and found a great one, 4 bed 2 bath, increased our living space by almost 1000 sq ft. ALL GOOD THINGS! Oh and I still have a 2 car garage, and the Montego fits - yes I measured. On top of all the actual house upgrade, we get into one of the best school districts in the area for the little guy.

Selling our house was supposed to close by July 31st. I just got word we can FINALLY CLOSE that deal on Thursday or Friday (we're pushing for Thursday). Which means we can close the new house right afterwards!!!

there's about 17k instant equity, I'm going to paint a few rooms in the new house before moving in though. Weird orange color in the Master needs to go lol.

We got our current house on a short sale, so it was a big swing when selling it.

its actually like a "peninsula lot". It sticks out on the end and the street wraps around each side, I don't have a neighbor on EITHER SIDE of me. But I have 2 behind me, the fence that splits their backyards is the center point of my yard. Kind of hard to explain, so here's an overhead:

thank you! and yea it actually was a big part of the selling factor for this house. It's not a huge lot but my 1983 push mower is probably thankful for that.

In our current house we were so crammed in and both of our neighbors were smokers (at one point, one of them has quit) that we couldn't open our windows because the smoke would come in. I'm so glad to have a little bit of elbow room

Hey, I grew up on an acre (our actual grass covered about 3/4 acre) and I used to cut the whole thing by hand. I hated it when I was a kid but the exercise was good.

yeah i hated helping with the 3/4 acre we had growing up. but in the area I was buying in I couldn't afford more than this anyhow. We had a toss up the whole time, Mansion with huge yard and bad schools (maybe even a 3 car garage) OR Modest house and yard with great schools.

You can see which option we chose. (damn being a responsible parent and such...)

Maybe apply to one of the auto companies? Michigan is a pretty cool place to live. And I haven't always lived here. Grew up in NJ, technically lived in SC during college (I just stayed at Michigan State), and then when I graduated I stayed here.
