What is it that you love, but are hesitant to admit?
Mine is Harry Potter. My wife made me watch the movies a few years ago and damned if she didn't get me hooked. I've since gone back and read all of the books and each fall we watch all 8 of the movies.
^This is my....excuse.
So, Oppo, what's yours?

2. Playing childish video games.
3. I might also maybe possibly slightly a little maybe like Taylor Swift's music.

Oh huge Harry Potter fan here. No shame in that. Read every book more than once and watched all movies.
This will get you though, worse than HP - I've read all the Twilight books. They're actually pretty good. Topics may be very teenage girl angst, but it's well written.

I also read the hunger games series. I always try and read before watching so the characters in my mind aren't who was casted for the role in the movie.

They have them at our local supermarket chain, so I'd assume you can find them at most grocery stores. The pomegranate ones have a bit of a weird taste, but the other two are great.

I've read the Harry Potter series around 8 or 9 times. Dobby dying will always be heart breaking. My girlfriend has read them like 17 times she says. Which I believe. I like the movies too, but would rather read the books.
I've read the Twilight series twice. Not bad actually. The movies weren't very good, but I've seen them all too.
Since you didn't hate the Twilight books, try The Host, by Stephenie Meyer. It was a lot better.
Also, 50 Shades of Grey was a good read. The psychology in it is fascinating.

I didn't read the Grey books, my wife read 2.5 of them, she quit in the middle of the third one, she said it seemed forced (lol pun wasn't intended but I'm leaving it there lol).
I'll try the host, we have the movie and just haven't gotten around to it because we haven't been all that excited about it.
I'm a lot more into books from authors like Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn, Steve Berry, etc. But it's fun to have a silly easy reading book every once in a while.

Most of my books are either epic fantasy (Tolkien, Jordan, Stirling, Goodkind) or military action fiction (Clancy, Baldacci, Hunter, etc.). Those are my favourite kinds of books.
If you've seen Shooter with Mark Walhberg, and liked it, you would probably like the Stephen Hunter books with the Bob Lee Swagger character.
The Host was really good. I was surprised that it was from the same author as Twilight. The movie was also much better done than the Twilight movies.
I enjoyed the Grey books. There wasn't as much x-rated material as it was purported to have, and I really enjoyed when it got into the mind of Christian Grey, and talked about what made him tick.

Interesting, those books are all in my house so I suppose I could pick one up and give it a try.
I had NO IDEA that Shooter was based off a book character. That's now on my must read authors list.
Baldacci is great, I'm almost 100% up to date on him. Check out Steve Berry, it's a bit more historical but really cool. Brad Thor is one of my favorites as well, goes right a long with Vince Flynn and Tom Clancy style books. He does it well.
I'm currently reading James Rollins's Sigma Force series. Pretty cool, gets a little more sci-fi meets historical political thriller. It's a weird mix but it's working so far (I'm on the 3rd one).
So yeah right now my top authors are:
Clancy
Flynn
Thor
Baldacci
Berry
Rollins
(unfortunately Clancy and Flynn have passed away, Flynn died young from cancer last year, another author he's worked with in the past is picking up where he left off with the books though)

I think I have a few Steve Berry books, but they're still at my parents. I've enjoyed those too.
Clive Cussler has stuff that's along those lines too, and they're really good. The movie Sahara, with Matthew McConaughey, is based off one of his books.
James Rollins is good stuff. I like the Sigma Force series too. I've read a few of them.
Baldacci is good, I just finished King and Maxwell from him. It has an excerpt from The Escape in the back, which is a John Puller book, so I really want to get it.
Lee Child is also pretty good. It's the books that the Jack Reacher movie came from.
Ben Coe's Eye for an Eye was a really good book too. Robert Ludlum (the Jason Bourne stuff) also has some really good books.
Dan Brown has some other books beside Angels and Demons or the Davinci Code, and they're decent.
Stuart Woods has a pretty good series going with the Stone Barrington books.
Definitely read the Bob Lee Swagger books, the one Shooter was based off of wasn't even close to the best book.

wow, this is a great list, I gotta save this thread.
And I've read every Dan Brown book, loved em all.
From Baldacci my favorite series is the Camel Club.
Man I've got some reading to do, better charge the kindle...

For the longest time I didn't know of any other than Angels and Demons, or The Davinci Code, but when the newest one came out, I ended up downloading his earlier ones too and loved them.
I think I've only read the first Camel Club book. I really like the John Puller books.
I have a bunch on my Kobo, but I have a lot more paper books. My favourite thing to do, at gas stations and convenience stores is to find their book racks and check them over. I'll read the blurb on the back or inside the cover, and if sounds interesting then I'll grab it.

They're pretty good. I think there is now three of them out.
Yes we do. I really like to get into series. Some of my favourite epic fantasy ones are around 12 books long.
Not a bad way to do it. I usually find that gas stations aren't bad for prices.
