I can't help but be excited, even though I'm a pessimistic Michigan fan (please send a miracle for our OLine), stupid Rutgers and Maryland are joining the Big Ten this year (whyyyyyy), and I have to keep explaining basic concepts of the game to this uninterested Russian dude with a million questions who thinks the whole thing is silly (grant me patience and serenity).

Any other CFB fans on Oppo? What teams?

eh, Rutgers has a decent size football stadium and the tickets for the Michigan/Rutgers game are fucking ridiculous so the Big 10 will make money.

Fun fact, UChicago was a founding member of the Big 10 but they abolished their football program to instead focus on academics.

No, Rutgers is a pile in a shitty part of Jersey and I refuse to hear any evidence to the contrary! We already have a Minnesota! Only half joking. The tickets are ridiculous because of the amount of UM alumni in NY (my dad's whole side of the family), maybe we should play a neutral site game in Metlife instead of that stupid Jerryworld trip against Bama.

As for Rutgers and Maryland, I'm happy to have them. With Rutgers it pulled in almost every rivalry in my whole family to the bigten. Obviously I'm an MSU guy, graduated in 08 (my wife did in 09). My dad is Nebraska, my mom is Penn State, my grandparents are Rutgers (Grandfather is class of '56) and my uncle is Notre Dame, who MSU still has a series with (despite them wussing out from playing Michigan).

Also Penn State really needs some rivals in league. Rutgers vs Penn State used to be a huge thing. Maryland will be better than a lot of the "bottom" B1G teams, don't count them out for competing, I suspect they'll be in a bowl game no problem.

All seriousness, I'm a huge NCAA Football Fan. I can't wait to watch Hoke flounder around on the sideline like an idiot for another season, can you guys extend his contract for me? You would have been better off with RichRod at this point.

Can't say I follow any teams, but I'm just as willing to watch NCAA games on tv as I am to watch NFL or CFL. I played football in high school and loved it. Sadly, the college and university I went to here in Ontario didn't have football teams, although there are apparently some here that do. I would have loved to have played. Probably wouldn't have been good enough though.
