C/D recently divulged the results of their accel tests on St. Agata's newest bull, generating a spot of uproar. Not only does the Huracan propel itself to the 60 mark in appreciably less time than its elder brother and dispatch several of the realm's accelerative giants (Turbo S, GT-R) in doing so, but the 1/4 mile time of 10.4 elapsed also outclasses its direct competitors. Although my (fantastical) predilections have historically inclined more towards the Maranello camp, this stormy bull certainly overlays some potent might upon the traditional Lamborghini tenets of brashness and bombast.
To attain such figures from a naturally-aspirated powertrain, as well...

I just realized something.
The Huracán isn't a track ready, great handling sports car like everyone thinks it is.
It's a factory-ready drag car! Straight line speed is what this thing excels at.

I'd be curious to see what times owners are getting with their cars. Not saying there is any funny business, but it is a very surprising number.

Cars were just breaking the 4.0 second barrier in the 90s (993 Turbo, Diablo). The 3.0 barrier last few years (Veyron, 997, GTR (or maybe the RS200 30 years ago)). Wonder if we'll see a car do 0-60 in under 2 seconds some day.

If I remember correctly, the actual 0-60 is 3.2, the 2.5 is 5-60. I may be wrong, but if the 0-60 of the Huracan is faster than an Aventador, that is definitely surprising.

yes. with the torque we get from electric motors it shouldn't be a long ways out.

That's actually what prompted me to post it, as I was likewise taken aback—those output figures just don't seem to equate to such staggering performance. Perhaps the Germans are inculcating Lambo with their powertrain-underrating ideals...

I would guess yes. I don't know when, but they'll get us there.

Can't imagine that'd be the case, considering 5-60 times are typically *slower* than 0-60 figures for AWD supercars of this ilk (attributable to launch control). Regardless, I agree the number does seem improbably low.

I bet the 5-60 is 3.2 vs 0-60 of 2.5. High rpm AWD launch vs. in gear acceleration from low rpm.

A 135mph trap speed in the 1/4 mile makes me think it's a ringer. This car's performance metrics are way too good for its supposed specifications. If owners are experiencing the same thing though that's totally fine, it would make the car a real competitor to the 650S.
