I think we ought to rename it "Steven Hawking's disease"

Lou Gehrig was diagnosed in 1939 and died in 1941. He only had it for a couple years. Hawking's had that shit for 50 years.

Also, Hawking is way more important to the history of humans than a baseball player.

Hawking has a motor neuron disease that is a variant of ALS, but is not the same. People with ALS only live about five years after diagnosis.
