What exactly does the official Kinja news update regarding pending replies mean? Does it mean there are still no pictures in comments?

I'd imagine that yes, they aren't going to turn pictures back on until all Kinja is running pending replies.

A pending reply is grayed out and can only be seen after the 'show replies' button is hit by the user. Approved replies aren't gray, and come from commentors that 1) Have editorial author powers 2) are followed by the blog or 3) have their comment recommended by someone who is either an editor, author or are followed by the blog.

It was all slightly confusing when I first noticed it. I'd hope that everything gets sorted out pretty soon though, and the people who posted all the graphic shit get some nice banhammer to go with it.
