Upside of getting stationed in Korea, Tomica cars are sold in stores. Downside, Tomica cars are not cheap and will make me poor

That is a long name for the top car. Much how US dollars were there? I'm curious.

4900 Won, it's pretty much 5 bucks each.

I'm not familiar with Tomica (or other diecast cars) but why aren't those in the same scale? I thought that 1:64 was the common size standard.

If you find a white B3 Audi 80, I will gladly reimburse you and pay to have it shipped over to the states. :-P
Though if you find one that's not white but has the tiny lip spoiler on the trunk, I'd much more prefer that, as I can always paint it white myself. ^_^

Since when is $5 "not cheap"

Hmm, at that price I would expect it to be decent quality. So the question is, is it good quality?

It isn't cheap, at least when compared to other diecast cars in the 1:64 scale. $3 is pushing it even, not when you can get something under $2 that's decent.

I'll keep an eye out.

When hot wheels are 1 dollar, 5 isn't exactly cheap.

The GTR is not really better than Hot Wheels or anything, the Subaru has opening doors and good details. It seems a bit hit or miss, probably not 5 times better than the Hot Wheels, but good quality.

1:64 is the standard, but it's not unusual for some manufacturers to scale to the box or package size. At least in this case, Tomica is being upfront with it.

When models like Greenlight or Hot Wheels' Retro Entertainment or Boulevard series are $6 or $7. Tomica's with their plastic body and wheels seem expensive. The suspension is cool though. :P

I have heard that the quality for Tomica has declined over the years...:(.

If you're serious I can send one over to you, they're part of the Limited Vintage collection and are a bit more than the normal Tomicas.

Only if it would total to less than $30 USD, as that's about what they cost at online retailers. Plus it'd be cooler to have it sent by a fellow Jalop. Though I'd prefer one with the lip spoiler, even if it was a different color...

Those are pretty sweet! Especially the Impreza. It looks like Car Guy shared your post to Live and Let DieCast. I have given you authorship in case you want to post!

Cool! I think I would like authorship, I may make a run and get more this weekend and would be willing to sell some out to people in want.

The one with the lip spoiler is 12-13USD, postage would be 2.5USD unregistered or 6.5USD registered. Would you want grey or black?

Probably grey, as that would be easier to paint. What's the difference between registered and unregistered?

You can track the registered post online but it isn't any quicker.
