I don't know why America allows this shit. How can that truck possibly turn in the city while towing a trailer??

The US should get some maximum wheel base rules.

By taking one of the perimeter freeways and avoiding cities entirely?

Most larger trucks like this are not allowed into smaller cities by laws about weight limits or maximum vehicle height. Also, when trucks have to get close to cities for distribution centers or even for moving trucks, there are often truck routes, which avoid city centers and also tend to have easier intersections for trucks to turn from.

They're pretty well marked if you pay attention to road signs coming off highways here.

The trucks with these sleeper cabs are generally for long haul truckers that rarely go into city centers and go from distribution centers that are along the main interstate routes. Plus this truck with a loaded trailer exceeds many weight limits in towns and cities. Basically this thing lives on the highway and at truckstops. Dude probably doesn't have a house and lives out of that rig as well. But granted that truck can't be easy to drive at all.

It would make no sense to use these inside a city, these are for long distances journeys where they have to park on a truck stop and catch some rest. Looks pretty hideous.

Yeah I know, but here usually the long haul cabs still deliver to the customer in the cities.

Except my cities truck route which has both a right hander and a left hander in the middle of downtown.

Oh believe me, I know it's a stupid truck route, but I didn't pick it.

Still not sure how this thing would manage.

that kind of rig is for hot shots. it's team driven and always on the move. one driver sleeps while the other drives.
