off topic but was watching car and driver I believe it was with the overly enthusiastic guy. Well he kept calling it a Verrone and everyone else is calling it a Veyron like Vay-ron or even Vai-ron. But nope, Ver-rone. Made me cringe.

I wonder what your thoughts are on the Countach and the Esprit, both of which went through 25 years with tons of variants and special editions, not to mention the recent Pagani Zonda, which went through several "final" special editions before the production ended just this year, after 14 years.

The lifespan for a should be about 8 years IMO. Anything after that and new competition just wipes the floor with it.

I was never really a fan of the Veyron in the first place, honestly.

You've got a point. The Veyron is nearing the end of production soon; just a handful more cars are to be purchased and built. Yes the technology is quite old now and cars like the LaFerrari, P1, and 918 even outperform it, but there's something to the Veyron that's still special. It still is, in my opinion, one of the only luxury hypercars; an unusual combination of GT and hypercar.

I think it's primarily that you don't like the car. I don't necessarily like it either, but I'm glad that something like it exists. There's no other hypercar with the same level of unnecessary opulence.

As for performance, it's still up there, no? There's not much that can match the mid-range acceleration. And it was never meant to be fast around a track. It was designed for grand touring.

It's French. It would be closer to Ver-rone than Vey-ron. Vehr-(gutteral r)one.

at first I was annoyed but then heard the translation and can't hate on that.

It sounds better in "full" French but the non French accent Verrone sounds terrible.
