So I've officially got over 1,000 (getting close to 2,000) miles of seat time on the FZR. I suppose I should give yall a review. But then again, I dont know if 1000 miles is enough to properly review a bike. Maybe I'll wait til the end of the season. But so far for an old bike, she has been pretty reliable. Yamaha may have just sold me on their brand for life.

Simple to work on. Parts readily available and the cost of parts is very reasonable. Sipping gas at an astonishing 55mpgs for a 600cc. Ive saved a ton of money already by commuting on this to work. At one point it was over a month and a half before i had to put gas in my car.

My only complaint is that its carburetted. But thats also a positive. I just dislike having to use the choke to warm it up every time i get out from work. But its not too big of a deal.

I wouldn't hesitate recommending this bike to anyone as a first bike, so long as you can prove to me you: 1) have self control 2) can smoothly operate and modulate the controls, none of this herky jerky crap 3) promise you will wear gear 4) take a MSF course 5) can lift up a 460lb bike

If you have done all of the above, you pretty much have proven your character as a smarter rider.

Then there is the mechanical aspect of this bike, but thats another story.

And word of warning to anyone wanting this bike. Tires are pretty much non existent for this bike now. With a stock 140/60/18 size rear, good luck. Im about ready to just do a yzf swingarm and rear wheel swap...

So if anyone here has the ability to order a good quality 140/60/18 or 150/60/18 rear and a 110/60(or 70)/17 up front, my wallet is open and ready.

But I still long for the day I buy my first supermoto....

Sweet. I need a real motorcycle as opposed to what I have. But I think I should get a car first.
