This is like the GSXR of 3-wheelers. Apparently they're wildly unsafe, though. I'll take a Morgan 3-wheeler over this any day.
This guy's 'paint job' (wrap? thing?) was just too much.
"OK, I want it matte Hulk green.... WAIT IT NEEDS MORE SKELETONS"

Agree 100%. Also I don't know why you'd choose this over a regular motorcycle or even something awesome like a Ural.
This is how I imagine trying to get an explanation out of one of these owners going.
So, is it more safe in a crash than a motorcycle like a car?
No, not really.

Even the Piaggio mp3 makes more sense, since it can lean into turns and is way safer.

I did some reading on them. Loads of power and when you turn at high speed the bike —er... trike—-doesn't lean like a real motorcycle, so the rider can get thrown off.

They're essentially the summer version of a snowmobile. If you ride them like a snowmobile, they should be perfectly safe. If you ride them like a motorcycle, they're gonna kill you.
That having been said, I grew up riding sleds, and never got hurt. I did, however, get thrown by a motorcycle at 65mph when my front tire got caught in some loose gravel at the edge of the road (I had a blowout and was fishtailing, couldn't keep the front tire on the pavement; the shoulders weren't paved). I'd imagine one of these would have let me cruise to a stop and call a tow truck. My bike threw my wife & I about 30 feet and broke my wife's ribs. If I ever got back into riding, it would probably be on something like this.

Sounds like they are safe unless ridden beyond their limits. Motorcycles are similar in that regard.
