First day of college classes is tomorrow, and I just got a new tire on my car so I can finally enjoy it on the highway. Heck yes. Unfortunately my schedule is a complete mess so I have gaps all over the place with nothing to do but study troll around on oppo so that'll be interesting. Also need to figure out my way around campus yay.

Yep. It's 20 miles there and 20 miles back for me, which is about 25 minutes of driving, assuming little traffic. At least there are on/off ramps to have fun on, one of which has a suggested speed of 20 but I know for a fact I can take it at the speed limit, which is 55. Of course, my tires like to be dramatic about it and scare the crap out of passengers, but that's most of the fun.

10 minutes is nothing. My commute is 20-25, and I've heard way worse. Luckily my schedule tomorrow is super easy: 11-1:45.

Last year I didn't commute at all because I was living in the dorm rooms on campus! But now they put me in their off-campus dorms, which is annoying.

Introductory Logic at 8:30-ish in McKinley Hall, then Pre-Calc right after that in Hubbard, then nothing for two hours until Intro to Digital Design in Wallace Hall (pretty familiar with that one), then I'm done at 1:45 or so. That's the plan for tomorrow. No idea what to do between 10:30 and 12:30, but I'll either study, eat, or sit in the parking lot (no parking permit so I have to park in the huge lots on the west side of campus) and make gaga eyes at my car.

Well I'm just in an apartment, so I basically chose to live that far away, but I had long reasons for doing so.

I think the lots you're thinking of are permit only, if I remember right.

Well McKinley is one of the old building west of the RSC. It's between that and the music building on the map. Hubbard's north of the RSC. And the RSC is a good place to go to kill time/study. I haven't seen it since May, so maybe it's all finished.

My first day is next week. Each class is ten minutes apart and I'm done by noon, so I'm pretty excited for that. I just hope my car is done in time, even though it's a two minute drive.

Heard that. I dug the dorms though. I spent freshman year at Drake University. My roommate and I barely spoke to each other, but we managed just fine.

I just don't like paying for gas, but my solution is just to buy a more efficient car, so problem solved sometime soon.

Yeah, I have no idea what the construction is like now. Last time I was on campus I was almost late for an advisor meeting because I had to go WAAAY out of my way to go around construction.

Oh, crap. I have no permit. Well... that's not fantastic. I thought Lot 1 was no permit required. Goody, another way for them to extort money from me.

I didn't buy one either. I'm just parking on side streets. If it gets bad, I'll just buy one. I'm driving my little Hyundai Santa Fe, so I'm not really worried what happens to it.

There's always parking south of 17th if you're classes are near the south part of campus.

I really doubt you'll need it. 15 minutes is plenty to get around from class to class. Just get there early, cause I have no clue what parking will be like this year.

Traditionally, it's always difficult for the first month but then people start skipping class or dropping classes or dropping out and parking gets better

The 1.0l came out in 2014, I'm founding out, and very few were sold, and even fewer are on the used car market place.

I need something I can get on Craigslist, so probably 2 or 3 years old minimum. I'm really leaning towards Mini. Not much else has that fun/gas mileage ratio.
