...and even earned the coveted golden star, but I still do not have approval to post comments on some articles.
(The preceding was presented as a matter of fact, and is in no way a subtle jab at the comment system that has been terrible since Jalopnik 5.0 [or whatever the last update before Kinja was]. Every February, like the groundhog, we are presented with another change, alternating between refresh and major overhaul. Most take it in stride, others are slowly pushed away. Sure, the commenting has brought some great articles to the front page, but that just means that Gawker gets to keep the revenue gained from crowd sourced work. Am I implying that there should be some sort of revenue sharing between people who write great articles on Oppo that get the almighty recognition of the front page? No, but it is something to think about.
Is this a rant, a commentary, or a call to action? Neither, really. Just sort of stream-of-consciousness, maybe I'll post something to Oppo because I haven't been active in months sort of thing. Also, in that time, I lost my job at Lincoln, found a job working at a Caterpillar Large Engine Plant, and got married, in that order.)
That is all.
