Oldirtybootz has a good thing. Let's post our "weird" fetish cars for late night oppo, to go along with our crushing saturdaynightalonewithabottle loneliness.

Kinja'd!!!

I have a huge soft spot for big-block luxury cruisers are performance cars. It goes against all of my lightweight high-revving ethos of cars I normally like.

Along with this are unusual mopars:

Kinja'd!!!

Plymouth Fury Station Wagon. 440ci of Yank Tank.

Funny enough, I actually like the next-gen better:

Kinja'd!!!

Best-looking car of 1977, I think. I'd love to pick up an ex-police sedan, give it a matte black or matte silver paint job and a black grill inset (like the '72 camaro grill) and turn it into a sleeper screamer.

Kinja'd!!!

I loathe front wheel drive. Not like most people "Oh, I don't like FWD, but I'll still own a Mazdaspeed3 or a Focus ST" No. No. I doubt I will ever actually own a FWD car without it being significantly modified, I just simply hate the feeling of driving one. That being said...

The CRX is lustworthy. Under 2000lbs! That's insane! It probably goes back to when I was in high school, and an 'associate' of mine (not quite friend) had sold his Eagle Talon for a CRX. I had no idea why and he decided to show me. It was a turbo CRX. It had somewhere around 200andchange HP, and would probably fall apart, but for one race he showed me that cheap+turbo = speed, regardless of the drive wheels.

Kinja'd!!!

Nissan S12 Silvia. Let's get one thing straight right off the bat: these were not nice cars. They weren't particularly well made and they fell apart (and rusted ) from the factory. But why would this be a fetish pick? I mean, I obviously love Nissans (look at the name!) but here's the thing: they never live up to the king that is the S13, and they are underpowered bricks. They didn't sell well, are hard to find parts for, and are generally considered crap compared to an AE86 or 300ZX. But...

...you could get one with a 3.0l V6 and 2500lbs. If you swapped the turbo manifold from a 300ZX, that means they are a ~220 reliable RWD HP in a car that weighs 2500lbs for under $4000. With a hatch! That's stupid cheap.

If it isn't obvious, most of my fetishes can be summed up as "shitty under-appreciated cheap cars that came with awesome engines."

Kinja'd!!!

Aaaaand here is the mac daddy of underappreciated cars that can accept awesome motors. The Ford Mustang II . I want to buy one of these, put in a 427 Windsor crate motor with a solid roller cam, side pipe exhaust, fuel injections and ITBs. Throw on some sweet headlight covers, a reworked bumper with an air dam, a bigass hood spoiler, and fat rear tires.

...mmm...

...I think I need some time alone.

Like the Lincoln. Prefer the MK 8. The Mustang II is one of my favorites. It gets little respect but is a great looking car.
