Found this yesterday on Hooniverse. Matt explaining in detail why /DRIVE+ was necessary and the best solution for them.
It most likely won't stop all the people complaining at how expensive 4$ a month is when they can buy two hot dogs for the same price, and that Chris Harris drifting and Matt Farah accelerating, when compared to two hot dogs, are not worth it... But still, for those who give a crap about the future of /DRIVE and are not into making ridiculous comparisons, this is very interesting :)

My problem is that when Drive was free there was weekly content from Monday to Friday. Now as a sub, I'm getting one piece of content bi-weekly. Considering they promised not only more but better quality content I'm feeling a bit burned by my subscription.

I'm gonna have to agree on that. I guess I'm just gonna hope it will change sometime soon.

My one gripe with /DRIVE+ is that it came too soon. It was unleashed upon the /DRIVE community almost without warning. Without prior explanations to the reasons behind the move to subscription service, people were duly shocked and offended. Very offended, all the YT comments on the normal /DRIVE channel videos are pure poison and they've got more dislikes than likes. Understandably some of them might not be able to pay up (and I fully understand their argument of YT being free video content) but had the people at /DRIVE announced their reasons for the change earlier, I bet some people would've felt more sympathetic.

Yes, communication seems to be a problem with /DRIVE. They don't seem to know what to communicate onto. Matt's big mouth does a pretty job at it though and he is the only present to answer the multiple questions. Sure he's not always very "professionnal" at responding to people, but at least he provides people with answers. /DRIVE seems to only be good at give wrong dates (when will /DRIVE+ be available for Germany and other european countries for exemple) and only manages to piss people of.
Why don't they upload this podcast to /DRIVE? Why don't they do one podcast dedicated to this question that they would upload on the free channel? EXPLAIN TO PEOPLE. Be clear. Complaints won't fully go away, but at still they should calm down.

That's actually a really good idea - give the people some peace of mind. Of course, there's always those that will bitch and whine, but people need to stop and consider the other party's problems.

I know. What happened to multi videos a week. Oh well there is motor trend channel for that. Along with so many others

Not really from my point of view. Unlike most, Chris Harris isn't the draw to drive for me since between Top Gear, Fifth Gear Autocar, Autoexpress, Evo, Car, Xcar and Car throttle, I'm not lacking in British blokes doing car reviews. I'm more interested in Tuned and Big Muscle.

I liked tuned, big muscle, I liked when they did ride apart a lot, and I liked the inside factory tours. Now its like meh, chris doesn't do much for me either.
