Do you think the 'cats will help bolster the base Charger/Challengers' image? Although they already do have some prestige due to their connections with Mercedes and Maserati, and also extensive cop and rental usage. ooooo a Ghibli Hellcat! Too bad no AWD though, which would help will all that power and torq.
Just like the GTR used to be a very high-performance Skyline until they diverged the two (the Skyline is sold over here as the Infiniti G2/35/7 and later Q50), but that was a mistake since the Skyline name has so much brand cachet, and of course there's no more 4-door GTR (which did exist prior to the R35). Infiniti Skyline, Infiniti Skyline GTR.

I'm inclined to agree; Skyline was a name that really held weight among the car car community, and still does in a sense, but has been dirtied slightly by the divergence. GTR should have the remained the suffix at the end of Skyline, it sounds way cooler.

The Eau Rouge was basically a 4-door GT-R.
You also have to realize that while there technically was a 4-door GT-R for the R32-R34 editions, they were usually RWD with an RB25DET, making them a dramatically different car than the GT-R. They never made a Skyline with the GT-R's engine and 4 doors, and the current-gen skylines still have the ATTESSA system available.

OK they never gave it the GT-R's engine and 4 doors and ATTESSA, but it isn't too late to start doing so now :)

Yes they did indeed, there were a limited run of 4-door R33 GT-Rs and a Stagea (Wagon) with GT-R drivetrain built by Autech.
From Wikipedia:
To celebrate their 40th anniversary, Nissan introduced a very rare 4-door GT-R. Two versions of the 4-door GT-R were available from Nissan's subsidiaries: the first was produced by Autech , and the second was a joint Autech / Nismo project. [...] There was also an Autech tuned Stagea, the 260RS; released with full GT-R running gear, including an RB26DETT engine and manual transmission, a unique body kit, 17" BBS style alloys, and GT-R instrumentation.
EDIT: Fuck the grey.

I didn't count the Autech ones because they weren't technically "factory" GT-Rs and they were a limited run, but you have a point.

As far as I am aware Autech is a Nissan subsidiary responsible for speciality cars, much like Nismo. So while I agree their cars are not 100% factory Nissans, they are sold through Nissan dealerships and get a full Nissan warranty, which is pretty much the same.
