I mess with computers!
Built it myself!
Painted it myself!
My two things are cars and computers; if they didn't exist, I would be nothing.....
EDIT: Holy shit! 36 views and 33 replies!?!?!

Come to think of it, I don't know if I have any hobbies. I like to cook, that's about it. And watch NFL football.

Golf, shooting, running, but anything car/racing is before all of this

I agree with all but running, but maybe that's because I run on the insides of my feet.... and I'm kinda (read: very) out of shape. Not fat, just not physically fit ;)
![]() 08/15/2014 at 00:57 |

I'd say it's more of an obsession. Hence the reason why I'm up at 1am for no reason. And I woke up this morning at 4. But, I don't have to go to work tomorrow, so that could be a big part of it too.

I ran competitive in high school, I hated running but that kind of competition really got my juices going, Im nowhere near the level I was at then but my girlfriend drags me out with her

LOL I sometimes do that to check OPPO, and I have yet to figure out why haha

I have a vintage mac collection that I try to keep operational, I collect watches, I Bike when I'm not being lazy, I draw, I cook/bake, I am currently trying to teach myself to play guitar, I watch tv and watch old/artsy/car movies.

I am just relaxed, AKA take it easy and not get worked up...

I would do it, but it's not worth it right now (the best OC I've gotten was 4.2 GHZ out of my FX8320) and my Mid Tower doesn't have any 240mm radiator mounts in it.... it would be kind of fun to do though :D
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:06 |

Neat on the Macs, I have a 2007 MBP running Mavericks like a charm! I've seen your drawings, they are epic! As for baking, since you are in CO (I assume), mary jane?

Hey, look at my computer. lol
I had to mount my 360mm radiator outside of the case (had to take out a fan from the chassis, but eh)

No on the mary jane thats not my style I bake cakes and cook stuff here's my birthday cake I made myself this year it was gluten free.

2005 iMac G5 1.8ghz 17"

LOL nice cake! I will say, the same person who gave me my Mac also has an OG 2003 Powermac G5 with dual PPC processors! Still works too! His favorite though is his 2011 MBP 17" with Matte Screen and 16GB of ram with an i7! I guess I know where my tech love comes from...

Lately, not much. I love to golf and BMX, but I just haven't had the time this summer thanks to my job and my new car. I do enjoy watching old movies and playing some occasional GTA5 though. I also collect watches, but again, having an old car has put that on the back burner.

1. Computers, used to be big into vintage ones (I have a PS/1, PS/2, couple TRS-80 Model 100s, a 486, some various pre-Pentium II laptops), but now I'm trying to get more practical (Thinkpad X200t, Dell D630, Dell Venue Pro 8, Phenom II X2 HTPC/racing sim rig)
2. Playing music (11 years of piano, 5+ years of guitar)
3. Cars, obviously
4. Mountian biking
5. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:18 |

Nice, I like to golf, I don't bike too much anymore with my new found love (tech) and I have been watching Top Gear UK (all 21 Seasons in 4 weeks!) and all of the original Planet of the Apes movies, along with the greats (The Matrix, Days of Thunder, etc.)

Awesome looking computer! What are the specs?
As for me;
1. I love to read books! Preferably those of realistic fiction. I also like to write
2. I love to ride bikes
3. Watch anime (Who would of thunk?)
4. Talking about cars I can't afford, mainly on oppo.
5. I do a lot of volunteer work for a local hospice, visiting patients and reading for them. (Because of this I can now almost resite the book of John from memory! Old people really like to be read the bible.

My brother has an 05 dual core g5 powermac, its very nice. I also have a Mid-2010 13" Macbook Pro With a 2.4ghz Core 2 duo and Nvidia 320m graphics. But thats my everyday computer and Its not considered vintage since its only 4.5 years old
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:21 |

I just watched Vertigo again tonight, it's my all time favorite movie and I highly recommend it! It also seems like there's quite a few golfers on Oppo...

computers are my day job, does it count for spare time? I do build a lot of machines, and custom ones primarily. I do some pretty wild stuff with them. Next up is a SteamBox with XBMC and Blu ray support.
Otherwise, I drive the hell out of my car, and I spend time with my girlfriend, and I go to car shows. Lots of car shows.
I'm also a cyclist. Fairly active, though this summer hasn't been that good for me.

![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:32 |

My ram is maxed as well. Do you have an optibay and are you running a raid setup?
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:32 |
|
Yes and no
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:34 |
|
I only have 2 ATX builds, all my more recent toys have been ITX or Pico ITX form factor. The smaller the better.
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:35 |
|
Good decision not to run a raid, my brother has a mid-2011 13" MBP and he has an opti bay running a raid setup between 2 64gb SSDs. He's had nothing but trouble, he lost access to his recovery drive. If he wants to boot into it he has to reset the parameter ram and hold R while booting. But because A raid fragments files between drives, hes stuck
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:35 |
|
This is my first (and only, for now) build, but it got me into this sort of thing!
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:37 |
|
Yeah, that's why I'm not running a RAID-0 on my PC, because of the trouble and issues of drives dying....
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:39 |
|
It's pretty clean, not bad. I'm pretty ridiculous about my builds. If I'm putting a new power supply into a machine, I have to keep it as neat as possible. If I'm building one from scratch, good like getting wires out later. You'll have to find them first.
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:40 |

Yup. I'll be there in a PT Cruiser GT

To me, the iMac G4 is the best design Apple has ever made, followed by the ACD Cinema Display and G4 Cube combo. TAM is a honorable mention too. One day I'll own a TAM. For now iMac G3, Macintosh Classic, iBook G4, 11 MacBook Air and my dd 15 Haswell Retina Display MBP will do.
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:42 |

Hasn't happened to me, it was just all of the horror stories I had heard.... not fun
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:44 |

I dunno, you'd be surprised how much fun you can have in a floppy-chassi'd convertible with a turbo-4 making 200+hp with 10lbs of boost, even if it does have a four-speed autorubbish transmonger.
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:45 |
|
It is, indeed. My beef with modular in my own machine was that the cables simply weren't long enough to reach behind the motherboard tray and hide properly. I'll link some pictures for you tomorrow, I need to get to sleep soon, but it's a stupid fast build. So stupid fast....exactly what I built it to be.
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:46 |
|
It's a CONVERTIBLE!?!? Park it in the middle of the show, pleaseeeeeeeeeeee, for the lulz
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:46 |
|
I agree with you that the lampshade is the best design, its comfortable to use too. I type all my papers on it, that 180 degree screen is amazing. And I want a TAM Sooooo bad, too bad they didnt sell well and most of them are in a landfill somewhere because people like you and me arent common enough to create a market for these things.
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:47 |
|
No, It can be bad. Knowing how a raid functions, it would be likely catastrophic
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:47 |
|
I just got mine with the AMD 8 core because it was as much as the dual core HT'd i3, and more for less is better (I think /sarc)
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:48 |
|
Because striped data?
![]() 08/15/2014 at 01:49 |
|
basically, a raid splits the files between 2 drives, so if one dies you have only half of your data so it becomes corrupt. its actually not that bad if you backup regularly, but on laptop no one backs up regularly

i have 24 total cores (physical+logical).

Frankly, I chase getting high. Since uni I haven't had much of a life and thus am just playing games etc. And I don't enjoy gaming anymore without weed. When I'm working I can afford to get other stuff but I'm usually doing that on my own anyway. I have a personal setup of fun (music etc) depending on what I'm on and people detract from it! I used to be a people person but now I realised there are two and only two types of people in the world Type A - Anchors and Type B - Barbarians. Anchors, perhaps unwittingly, impede you in life in some way. Every person ever will have let someone else down to some degree, including me and you, whether minor or major it will always happen. Barbarians are typically those in some position of power relative to you who create an architecture for their own betterment at the cost of others. Aren't you glad you asked!!! :P

I have a Titanium PowerBook G4 DVI that you can have for parts if you want it. Screen cable is messed up (known issue), power adapter input needs resoldering. Pretty poor condition but logic board, HDD, RAM, keyboard and trackpad are still good.

I don't remember if those have copper core boards. If they do I don't want it, because I don't have a desoldering iron. If I try to fix the board with the tools I have I may melt the board
