I will be chilling out on the water at my parents' vacation house in lovely Bozman, MD. This is their back yard. I'm flying out tomorrow and will be there through Tuesday. We'll see how successful I am at teaching my Wisconsin-born-and-raised gf to crack crabs.

Mmmm...can't wait!

Eh its not hard. I learned by watching friends of mine one night at dinner having never had crab before. They had no idea that it was my first time when I told them after.

I grew up in Maryland, of course I know how to crack crabs.

It's more that my gf gets a little squeamish with food that starts out as a whole animal you have to break into pieces.

Just had crabs tonight. I tried to teach a buddy of mine from NY how to eat them last year and he struggled. It's kinda hard to teach something that you never remember learning (MD Born and Bred - but in the process of changing residency for tax reasons).

Where the hell is Bozman, MD? That's not Eastern Shore, is it?

My folks don't have the necessary equipment for crabbing. But, their next door neighbors are watermen. My mom bakes them stuff, and they bring over the occasional bushel of crabs.
