I went out to the fireworks the other day and this car showed up. I didn't have a clue what it was. I got to talking with the owner. It's a 1926 Franklin. Now THAT is a rare treat!

The owners name was Andre, and he is super cool. Did you know Franklin's were made in Syracuse New York? How's that for a neat bit of trivia? Next year Andre is organizing a Franklin car meet right here in Ottawa. I'm definitely going to try to go!

Here are some other pics of Andre's 1926 Franklin from the interwebs. Dusk was rapidly falling so that's why I only have the one pic. These pics below are of the exact car pictured here.

Funny, I just was watching an American Pickers episode where they bought 2 Franklin grills. They called them radiator shells, but that's kind of difficult to have a radiator shell when they are aircooled.

Yup. And now to do what I do with all my DOTS...and schedule it to post at 3:48 am. I think these comments will teleport but not sure.

Tanks for the comment though.

Seriously? I've lived in Syracuse my whole life and I'm just now learning this. Carrier I knew about this I didn't.
Edit*: But that would explain the massive amount of Franklins I saw near Chittenango two weekends ago.

Yes!! That is their annual meet. Andre was telling me he usually drives his Franklin down there but couldn't make it this time.

to what nonsense are you referring? It also pushes other car related stuff FURTHER down the page, so please be judicious with this

got it, I see it now that GameCat did a reframed share. Interesting article, poor choice of title though. Kind of meant to be incendiary, as was the article

Yeah. Agreed. Staying far away from that as possible.

It was really cool. We were in our Mustang and they were going the opposite direction. We had to see close to 30 if not more.
