Hmm it's an Alfa, was built between 1998 and 2006, was available with some four banger and a V6 and maybe a Diesel, a [...] speed manual and a [...] speed slushbox, FWD and got a facelift at some point.

Well. It's Italian and was made by Alfa Romeo.

It was FWD only, you could get it with 240hp V6 (glorious 3.2 24 Alfa V6), I don't think Q2 (LSD) was available on it. But like any Alfa you could fit it afterwards. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get at least 300hp from the 3.2 V6, some have done it on the 147 and 156 GTA (and a Q2 is a must then).

It was also lighter than the competition (A6, 5-series, E-class), but it, obviously, didn't sell as well and that's probably why it was discountinued in 2007.

Also, you're located in the U.S. right? It wasn't imported here, so it's awesome you saw on. I've always liked them.

The V6 has a really shiny intake. Most important fact about it.

And it is the same glorious 3.2 V6 24v found in the GTAs also (at least in the facelifted 166).

On the topic of FWD-only, in my experience, Alfa make some of the best-handling FWD cars in the world. I've not driven a 166, but my parents have the smaller 156, and it handles beautifully.

Here's a standard 156 with the small 2.5 V6, fitted with the stock then a Novitec exhaust.

I think that one's got the Nuvola paint that is beautiful and a bitch to repair.

They are cheap secondhand. I do like the pre-facelifts more.

Yup. Had personalized (ALFA 166) but otherwise standard WI plates on it.

I love the 156, the v6 noise only makes it better. I knew someone who had a 156 then a 159. The 159 I remember well, had the best wheels, red leather embossed interior and gunmetal grey paint. It was a diesel unfortunately but a beautiful car.

That dude drives a dark coloured mid range mk5 golf now. The servicing and repairs on the alfas were emptying his wallet at an alarming pace.

They were always good looking cars, too bad they didn't make a 159 GTA. And I jsut learned that a british company called Autodelta made a 400hp, 3.7l V6 supercharged 156.

Thing is, it's all or nothing with Alfa, either it's dead reliable, and you won't to spend a penny aside regular maintenance, or they are pure nightmare.
