I may be a horrible person, but the counter-reactions from the Tumblr users were pretty damn hilarious if I do say so myself.

It was sort of like watching someone really full of themselves just kind of lightly tapping on someone sitting on a bench, annoying them, buzzing around them, trying to hit them as hard as they can.

Only to realize when the person stands up they're like 7'2" and 400lbs. The amounts of comments I saw from Tumblrs users with something to the effect of; "FOR GOD'S SAKES, STOP PISSING OFF 4CHAN!" was amusing to say the least.

Acccctually....the 'tumblr' raid was mostly carried out by /pol/ users' fake tumblr accounts. It was a self enginerred raid.

If you read some of the posts made in the raid, it's painfully obvious no actual feminist made it (they used like 100 different label words, half of them made up)

Think about it, would those 12 year olds on XBOX Live be telling everyone about how they had their way with whoever's mom last night if they were face to face? Would they be dropping racial slurs like it was nothing? Probably not.

Most of these guys causing all this trouble wouldn't do this if there name/home address was attached to their post.

It's an accountability issue. There's no punishment for your actions on the internet. And it's a shame because it has seriously hurt some kids today with cyber bullying etc.

Anonymity is a double edged knife though. While some abuse it, others are empowered by it, and it allows them to speak their minds. It allows them to be whistle blowers. It allows to try and affect social and cultural changes without the threat of being lynched because of your beliefs.
