So lately I've had the knack to redo the custom red steering wheel stitching I did a while back in my GTI 1.8T (shut up i'ts not that slow).

I used cotton embroidery thread which looked great for a month or so but it quickly faded and even through cleaning still looks dull.

What would be the proper thread to use that would be more durable and UV-resistant?

I got an aftermarket leather cover I had to stitch on myself. I kinda remember it being covered is wax or sumthing.

Hi

I've stiched my steering wheel about year ago...it was oryginal bmw E36, 3 spoke sport wheel. Leather was in good condition so I've only made stiching in upper half.

I have pictures because I've sold it (but now i can't post them here) After some google search. I used oryginal diamond shape stich and watched this video couple of times before work.

thread that was almost the same as oryginal was made from 100% polyester filament It didn't cut hand and so on. There are 3 strings twisted together. and it was intended for leather and car upholstery. You could feel it but probably because leather was old and i used the same holes to redo the stiching.

sorry for my english, I hope it helps:)
