A good friend of mine needs help selling one car, and finding another.
First car is a Mercedes 560SL (not the one pictured, but same color). Car has about 120k miles on it, and has gone through an engine rebuild. Hardtop is included, and car is ready to go from the greater NYC area to California with just gas being put in the tank.
It's being sold because my friend simply hasn't been able to enjoy it lately. He would like it to go to a home where it will be enjoyed.
Then we get to what he's looking to replace it with. A Jeep CJ7. They were made for 9 years, and he's not picky about which specific year, but he'd like one already restored. Rust free, painted, finished build. He wants to buy it to enjoy it, not buy it to restore it. He has 3 younger children, so the time simply isn't there to make it happen.
Why does he want a CJ7 specifically? It was his first car. He didn't specify a color or trim package other than CJ7, off road tires, and a mild lift.
He's leaving me in charge of being able to find these cars because he 1) doesn't have the time, and 2) is pretty certain I'll be able to find something he will like a lot.
Anyone have any thoughts or leads? General NYC area.

This is kind of a long shot, but...any idea what he's asking for the 560SL? Kind of have a thing for those...

He lives minutes from me, and wants me to find the right home for the car. While the price isn't expressly negotiable, I would say it's less than you'd expect, but still worth the time.
