cars from this era (brass?) may be slow, but IMHO they are f****** fascinating. So many unique designs, ludicrous displacement, crazy controls.

Brass era, yes. Couldn't agree more. To me, the beginnings of the automobile are fascinating like nothing else. Not all of them were so slow though...
