Firstly when I showed up, one of the guys go "man your suv must get good gas mileage".....I was completely confused and then he said "Your car is kind of high up" and I said "Oh yeah" and explained to him how i got that way. I don't think he cared lol. Anyways...
Here in Ontario we use an OBD test and don't use the sniffer machines anymore...which sucks for me because my check engine light had been on for quite a while. I used Opponuats Zippy Resident Zipster's OBD tool and learned that it was a small evap system leak. In other words...nothing important.
Since you are allowed one or two not ready monitors, my mechanic reset the light, and advised me to keep the car filled to the brim with fuel so that the evap monitor couldn't run.
I did this, the monitor didn't run, and lo and behold we passed. My mechanic is awesome!
