There shouldn't be a controversy regarding the truth.

I'd drive one if they didn't start @ $40k in Canada. the best thing about Kia is the 0% interest on longer loans. Which therefor make a $40000 Kia cheaper to buy than a $35000 Mercedes for instance.

How was it? I've never even sat in one

It's one of those cars that I'm not interested in for myself as an enthusiast, but would strongly consider in a different light. It certainly seems like a great value even for how expensive it is.

Is the Cadenza the North American version of the Optima we get in the U.K.?

It's the best looking car in Kia's lineup. The Optima desperately needs a revision and the K900 looks much cheaper by comparison (though it is an older design that was KDM only). I love the tail lights on them, and the whole car, at least on the outside looks like something from Germany.

It was pretty good actually. My major gripe was that, on a $40k car, the passenger seat was permanently set in the lowest position and wouldn't move. Other than that, it was a fairly good car, but my first choice in the category would still be an Impala 2LTZ.

No we get the Optima too. Think of the Cadenza is slightly up market, I.E. The Cadenza is to the Optima what the Avalon is to the Camry.

I actually just watched C&D's video of big sedans yesterday actually …. & Hyandia/kia took the last 2 spots.

They're there on paper & in styling too I suppose, but not there on putting everything together yet.

The impala would be a good choice. I think I would end up with an ATS. I know it's smaller, but for the money....

Well that's an entirely different thing. If it's just a matter of "how to spend a little over forty grand on a car", I'd get an Audi S3. But nobody cross-shops those (except me, I guess).

Oh okay. We don't get the Cadenza, but we also don't get the Camry or the Avalon. The only four door Toyota we get is the Avensis all the rest are three and five door hatchbacks. But after looking at Google I take your point.

Damn, well that was a shitty example, lol.

But us americans love our big generic sedans.

I think you'd be surprised by how many people cross shop what they can afford rather than competitive cars

We Jalops do, but I don't think a lot of non-car people do. I could be wrong, but that's my impression.

Hey no sweat fella. Lol.

I guess we love our small hatchbacks.

This being our Toyota range. Avensis being the only four door.

It is really good looking, actually all the larger Kias are (somehow, I don't think Peter Schreyer's aesthetic translates as well on the Forte and Rio, but smaller cars are always harder to do).

My uncle just traded in his MKX on one, say's its the most affordable car he's had since probably the 80s, and he doesn't understand the amount of compliments he gets on it because its "only a Kia", but look at the thing.

I agree with you on the grill, but atleast it isn't a gaping hole like most offering now a days...
