A Lamborghini roadster came by my neighborhood and made quite some noise, even just idling or going by ever so ordinarily. Inspired this:

Kinja'd!!!

Never usually see a Lamborghini make so much noise, so I'm guessing it was an aftermarket or catalyst delete. I just hope they don't come out of the factory so noisy, and I'm glad I'm not this guy's neighbor. You could hear the car from 500 feet still, among buildings! Too much for my taste.

If you're in the US it definitely wasn't stock.

The Gallardo isn't very loud stock. It needs an aftermarket exhaust to get truly loud. And as you said it could have had a cat delete.

It's actually pretty surprising how quiet they are when stock. Certainly not quiet but definitely not THAT loud.

I was shocked by how quiet the only one I test drove was. It was the first model year.

It didn't sound like a Lambo at all. It was so quiet it sounded closer to my E90 M3 (with stock exhaust) than the fire breathing V12 Lambos.

I think they received a better stock exhaust setup in 2006 because the customers complained a lot about the 2004-2005 cars.

I think the gen 1 Superleggera nailed it on the sound front (from what I've heard from video and random in person Gallardo spots). The Gen 1 seemed to have a more raw, visceral noise than the face lifted Gen 2.

Lamborghini being owned by the Germans is a double edged sword. They refined the brand and made better cars, but they seem to have lost a lot of the Italian specialness. I'm frankly quite amazed they ever came out with the Balboni Edition Gallardo.

Exactly!!!!

It's both good and bad

I really don't like the Huracan reviews

Seems like it's 93% Audi

Yeah, it looks like the Huracan is mostly Audi. It even reminds me of an Audi in it's styling. It's all very German seeming to me. It will probably sell well and I'm sure it's damn good fun but it doesn't scream "character" to me.

It gives me a sad. I'm sure it's more reliable than any Lambo before it. But it doesn't seem very Lambo-ish.

Did you hear the weird overrun sound on the video reviews? It sounds so manufactured.

It literally sounds like Lambo tried to make the R8 sound like a Lambo using digital trickery

Yeah, the sound of the Huracan seems really contrived. It sounds like an artificial Gallardo.

Exactly!

And the steering is aparently terrible

Unrelated but funny - look how a Lexus photo bombs this 458 ad. The last few pics are of a red Lexus, lol

Maybe you could extrapolate that this is a Ferrari, Ferrari makes the California which has fake dual stacked exhausts, and you know what else has fake dual stacked exhausts? The old Lexus IS-F. BAM.

I never would have made the connection. Now that you have it totally makes sense! The world is starting to fit together much better now

This car is too close to me. Dangerous. How much do you think my doge would be worth in a trade in?

Check out dat brown interior...

Brown leather interiors (and tan/baseball glove) leather interiors make me weak in the knees. I wish more cars had them more afforably.

I'm not sure what doge you are referring to. If you mean your pet, IMO on a more serious note those are irreplaceable. I'd turn down a free McLaren F1 if it meant parting ways with my big baby:

Me too!!! WHY don't moar cars come with brown or baseball glove interiors? I really don't get it. Leather looks most natural when brown. Therefore cars look great with this kind of leather. It makes me really sad that most cars that have leather interiors have leather that's either dyed black or grey.

I'm glad that brown and baseball glove leather is finally becoming a little more common in fancy cars. Maybe moar people will realize how awesome it is and order their cars with one of the two. Then car companies that make more affordable cars will follow suit to look fancy.

I literally just got weak when looking at the diamond pattern brown leather seats in this car. Holy f'ing crap it's so nice...

Your doge rules!! Very cool looking. I bet it would get along with my doge. I was just kidding about trading him in. That was the only joke I could think of because he's sleeping on the couch next to me while I use my laptop to look for cars with awesome brown interiors.

Just this week I saw a new red Lexus with a predator grill that had a baseball glove interior. The leather looked awesome. Much nicer than black interiors. I really like a nice black interior but they're a dime a dozen now, and tan/brown leather is just so much more exquisite looking. The 458 Spider is definitely the way to go if you're going 458. It even manages to look good with the top up. Your Boston there is really cute. Nothing better than hanging out with your dog next to you on the couch, relaxing.

I haven't seen the Lexus baseball glove interior yet. I saw a pic of a BMW 4 Series concept with dat interior and loved it. Not sure if the production car ended up getting the same exact interior option or not.

Black interiors are nice but definitely so common. All my cars have black interiors now and I love how they hide stains. But they are a bit boring. Brown would be so much cooler.

I am in love with the 458 spider. It does look pretty decent with the top up and it's a shame to have the coupe if you're not tracking the car. I've driven the F430 coupe and spider and you lose nothing with the spider on public roads. You don't lose any cargo space. And any handling loss is unimportant as these cars are too fast for public road speed limits. The drop tops make it so much easier to hear the engine, such a shame not to...

I need to find a way to afford the 458 spider. Doge can go with me on drives. He would like the drop top. He sits on the passenger floor when I drive so he can't see out the window. But he would get more air if I had a convertible.
